Professional Development AdvisersOur faculty of Quality Improvement and Learning Development (QUILD) offer a wide-ranging development scheme. Our Professional Learning Advisers (PLA) are qualified and well experienced teaching practitioners who are employed to observe teaching and learning against NCFE standards. They grade teaching and learning in a manner that is consistent with the methods used by Ofsted & ALI, support and advise teachers and share good practice on teaching and learning methodologies on a college wide basis. The PLA scheme is a continuous process of evaluation and support. It is focused on the continuing professional development needs of teachers, and the underpinning assumption is that all teachers can benefit from objective observation and professional support and development. Do you need to gain full Teacher Qualified Status? The college offers teaching qualification courses, such as the Certificate in Education. As a member of staff, you may benefit by attending these courses - this has the benefit of receiving internal support with the help of Professional Learning Advisors and your colleagues, whilst you're on the programme.
