Salaries offered are reviewed annually. Your salary is paid on the last working day of each month by direct credit transfer. Top of Page Pension scheme Newham College offers a final salary pension scheme and this is offered to new staff and provide excellent benefits on retirement. Top of page Academic/Academic Management posts You have the option of participating in the Teachers' Pension Scheme. If you choose not to participate in this occupational scheme, you will automatically contribute to the Second State Pension (S2P) through your National insurance contributions unless you take out a personal pension. Top of page Business Support posts You have the option to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. If you choose not to participate in this occupational scheme, you will automatically contribute to the Second State Pension (S2P) through your National insurance contributions unless you take out a personal pension. Top of page Private Health scheme The College has a contract with a private healthcare provider to provide medical insurance to staff. The option is available for permanent staff, the cost for whom is met by the College (a benefit you are subject to tax on). You have the option of also including your spouse/partner and/or other dependants under the age of 21 in the scheme at a reduced cost. Top of page Eye tests Permanent employees or employees on a fixed term contract of one year or more are entitled to a free eye test once a year. If your test shows you need glasses or contact lenses just for using computers (VDU) you will receive £75 towards the cost. Top of page Loans and allowances Loans are available for various expenditure, including season tickets, relocation expenses, car and IT purchases. Repayment is made by deduction from salary in 12 equal instalments. Top of page Childcare subsidy The College operates the Childcare Subsidy Allowance Scheme, which enables employees or receive financial help with the costs of childcare, in accordance with need.
